When growing your newsletter, you either, acquire subscribers organically or through ads (some people also buy existing newsletters).
The cost then depends on the quality of the lead.
The cost to add a new subscriber to your list is not the same as your cost per *engaged* subscriber.
One of our newsletters was adding new subs from Meta at $1.00 (quite low).
They told me their target engagement metrics and I asked: "How many new subscribers from Meta does itā¦ twitter.com/i/web/status/1ā¦

And of course, a new subscriber doesnāt have the same value as an āengagedā subscriber.
I believe the most important aspect for newsletters in the future is going to be the quality and the lifetime value of subscribers.

We also see it when you buy and sell a newsletter. Duuce value active subscribers (people who actually open your emails) at a rate from $2.5 - $8 per active subscriber depending on the niche and the quality of the newsletter and is adapting to the market.
We will certainly see more data come out in the next few years.
