🗞️ TNC Resumed

The first ever Newsletter Conference happened last Friday in New-York, gathering 300 newsletter creators, operators, enthusiasts!

For a first event, it was very well organized by Who Sponsors Stuff.

It was like walking into your LinkedIn account, fun!

Hosted by Dan Oshinsky, who has the charisma of a real show host.

The day was filled with amazing speakers from very popular newsletters to less “popular”, more niche ones, which were great to hear from. (Would have loved to have more pauses to enjoy networking more, though…)

It was great to see all those people IRL, because first, it reminds us that even the mostpopular” creator is just a person like everyone else, it motivates us to reach for your own goals/dreams.

Anyway, here are the few key points that came out from it:

1- Growing your audience is easier if you have a face/faces associated with your brand, but cannot/shouldn’t depend on them!

2- Monetization should be diversified as soon as your audience is big enough and already has one steady revenue stream.

3- We are not in a newsletter bubble as long as your newsletter is qualified and brings value to your audience.

4- Scaling slowly and prudently is the main goal for all big media.

5- The sense of community is what keeps your audience engaged and the way to serve them the best is by getting to know them.

My personal revelations were Jacob Donnelly and Nicole Casperson, though they all deserve to be named and recognized!

💼 Influencers Newsletters

Did you also notice that all your favorite influencers/content creators on social media are getting their own newsletters?

It was a prediction of many from the newsletter industry for 2024, and it’s been happening massively, and will only keep growing from here.

From 100k followers to 2M+ on social, no matter your niche, having a newsletter will become The go-to step to grow, monetize and keep your audience close!

The chase to get Influencers to sign up to their platform has begun! I have seen a lot signup to Substack, which is an obvious first choice for a lot of creators as it is a free platform.

Beehiiv also signed a few big influencers/creators, most recently Jordan Belfort!

If you are interested in a deep dive on it, let me know.
